Homemade Beef Meatballs

Ingredients
  

  • 1015 g about 1 kg lean ground beef
  • 1 spring onion green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small regular onion or ½ medium, finely diced
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ tsp salt adjust to taste
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder optional
  • ½ tsp dried oregano or parsley optional
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for frying

Method
 

  1. Finely dice the regular onion and chop the spring onion (use both white and green parts).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onions, egg, salt, pepper, and any optional spices. Use your hands or a fork to mix gently.
  3. Roll the mixture into 3-4 cm balls.
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add meatballs in batches (don’t overcrowd) and fry for 3-4 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through (internal temp should reach 70°C/160°F).
  6. Transfer to a paper towel to drain excess oil.
